Hello Kspace community!

Are you all enjoying your break? There is a lot of activity going on at the school this week as many of the team still continue to work away, adding to the interior. As you know, we have some spooky fun coming up and I will be updating you about your calendar highlights in a longer mail tomorrow.

Our resident artist-supreme, Adam Bowden, is working on a super secret and very exciting project right now. I have promised not to share any details, but I can tell you that we will be welcoming an addition to the ‘family’ at some stage..possibly early next year. We know that you’ll all love it!

We have also created some fun colouring sheets to fill up some time at home. Although we are know for encouraging freedom of artistic expression at Kspace, ‘colouring in’ also has a valuable place in building skills. Whilst colouring parents can discuss colours and shades, shapes, names of areas of the body, counting/numbers and family names with your child. Older children can be encouraged to build story lines based on images, and offer imaginative background about characters. There are learning opportunities everywhere! Tiny children’s ‘scribbles’ and very important precursors to shape and letter formation and holding/gripping brushes, pencil and pens builds the small motor skills that are essential for later work. As importantly, when we sit and colour or doodle we can experience a really pleasant sense of calm and it’s very relaxing and helps us to find our flow. Recently, doodling has become a real trend for adults and the stores are filled with doodle books!

If you enjoy scribbling/painting and penciling in our colouring template of Kokomo and his family, please send us a photo this week of the finished masterpiece! If you don’t wish your child to be featured of course you can just send the photo of the drawing, and we will add them to our Facebook page!

TRAVEL – A – KOKOMO Kspace News from Abroad!

12th September 2017

Hi Kspace Community!

So many children are having a great time with us in our summer camp, but we also love keeping in touch with our Kokomo friends who are on their travels. It’s great when parents write and send us photos from abroad, so if you go away and your child continues to want to rock their Kspace T-shirt, or take their Kokomo toy overseas, please send in and we’ll post it!

Three Girls, Three Countries!

France with kokomo

Today we want to say thank you to one of our French mummies, Constance. Her three daughters went through the school and stayed with us for a very long time. They started in the Parent & Child programmes and worked their way through the International School, with the older girls Eloise and Alice graduating into Tokyo International School.

We said a sad goodbye to their amazing family at the end of term as they have returned back to France. Our little Red Butterfly student Sophie would like to say a loud “bonjour” to all her Kspace Parent & Child friends and her fellow Butterflies. Her mummy says she is missing you all, but you can see that she is enjoying herself back in Europe! These photos are taken on Sophie proudly rocking her Kokomo T-shirt whilst she was in Spain – and now the girls have hade great educational experiences in Japan, Spain and France.

We will miss you all and thank you so much for being with for a very long time!
